The Olympiapark Berlin consists of a large number of listed buildings. Work on the "German Sports Forum" complex to the north of the Olympic Stadium was begun by Walther and Werner March after a competition in the 1920s and was completed in time for the Olympic Games in 1936.

The complex with gymnasiums and indoor swimming pools, administration and lecture rooms was built as a sports college and was used by the British military administration after World War II. Nowadays, the Poelchau sports school as well as companies and clubs associated with sports are located here.

The buildings of the Olympiapark currently have a wide variety of renovation needs due to the time of their construction and the time pressure of completion. In addition to natural stone work on the facade and sealing measures on the roof, glazing that clashes with the design of the monument also has to be replaced.

The so-called Hall of Honour is an entrance to the central structure of the House of German Sports. After the renovation or replacement of the steel girders and the renewal of the fastening and repair of the natural stone plates of the architrave, the replacement of the glass elements and the renovation of the interior ceiling of the hall could be carried out.

The 8.60 m high glazing was realized with Forster profiles with a slim form that aesthetically approximates the design of the steel profiles of the construction period, which were still thermally unseparated at that time, and yet still have a very good heat transfer coefficient.

The solid masonry that surrounds the high elements provided excellent support for the frame attachment. As a result, it was possible to use the slender forster unico profiles with a 30 mm construction width and a 20 mm glass protector. They have the same overall view as the glass-dividing transoms with 50 mm and thus provide a great deal of transparency and lightness. Due to the proven stainless steel grid of the forster unico profiles, the specified static values required for these large glazing elements with an integrated door could be achieved effortlessly. The elements were filled in with a double-glazed insulating glass. The frame-glass construction thus meets the specified heat transfer coefficient of Uw= 1.9 W/m²K.
